Great food and milkshakes. Horrible service! In fact, the worst of my life.I sat myself and they refused to give me a menu "out of order" in how I entered (although actually I entered before two tables who were given menus). After sneakily grabbing my own menu so I could bother to read what it had to offer I waited quite some time to order. I didn't mind waiting and I felt bad for the overworked staff. That was until they started yelling at a kind man who purposefully was waiting to pay so as not to overwhelm the staff. They were angry at him for handing his menu to a newly arriving elderly couple and because he had the audacity to wait to pay (which, again, he was doing to be kind).Eventually he gave up and left, still tipping, still saying thank you. After he left the staff continued to say unkind things about him. It was a disgusting service experience.
This is the second year in a row that they messed up our order by forgetting our order. Not going again
Awesome Food, Super Friendly Staff, Excellent Service. Great Place to Meet Up With Friends. Ask for their explosive ketchup its alot of fun. 😜👍Awesome Reuben Sandwich
We really enjoyed the service and the food. The huckleberry cinnamon rolls were delicious. Plan to go there again next year when we return to the area. Breakfast, lunch or dinner it is all good.
Had burgers, french fries, onion rings, and shakes. They were ok. The famous huckleberry pie was nothing special. Sat outside at a picnic table beside the creek. The kids liked it.
This quaint diner located adjacent the service station at the fork between the Trout Lake and Mt Adams road is a real delight. On any given day except to run into PCT thru hikers catching a hearty breakfast, lunch, or dinner before getting back on the trail. In summer huckleberries dominate the menu, and they are fantastic. The huckleberry pancakes were perfect, and loaded with berries. This was a great place to stop and grab breakfast after camping out at Takhlakh Lake before heading to climb the mountain. Even closer to Trout Lake. Very friendly staff.
The service here was outstanding. Very friendly and attentive staff. The main seating has a very "Sunday BBQ" feel to it, or there's a small bench style stool seating area in front. There's some seating inside as well but was unavailable at the time for safety reasons due to covid. The food is reasonably priced, but more importantly its delicious! The sweet potato fries were especially tasty... I would certainly dine here again. And if you find yourself in that neck of the woods, I'd recommend you should too!
Fresh Huckleberry milkshakes in early August!Perfection!
Great outdoor atmosphere and reasonable prices.
Great place to stop, good food and home style feel to the place
Really good burger. Prices were a bit high, but the food was good so didn't feel so bad about paying. Very small place, cute place.
They were a little busy to be fair, but it took 20 minutes to get our order taken. I ordered a BBQ burger and requested grilled onions or none at all and just water to drink. My wife had no issue with her order, but I was given raw onions and I never did get a water. I walked over to my truck and got an iced tea from my cooler. No one bothered me for it, so no harm really. I Did get heartburn later tho, from the raw onions.
Was there for breakfast on October 28th after coming down from mount Adams and the service and food was excellent! Will stop there again for sure.
Busy but the staff was very nice
Small town Cafe great place owners are nice food was good. Get a pizza if they are serving them that night, they are amazing!
Amazing one stop shop. This place is a mechanic, bakery, gas station, and last but definitely not least, a cafe. The Cafe is great, however they need more waitresses as our service was quite slow. They have great drinks, I had an espresso chocolate shake. It was amazing. The scenery was very nice, as it was next to a creek, hence the name. They had both outdoor and indoor seeting.Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Always upbeat and good service
Terrific patio out back and great burgers
Great diner to have in Trout Lake -- Never tried the food because the Huckleberry pie and/or milkshakes are top-notch, so never ventured to a different section of the menu!
Great place to stop and eat
Spent the night in this town and had dinner and breakfast here. Burger and fries were very good but the huckleberry shake was the best. I had craving for the shake the next 3 days afterwards while hiking on the PCT. Breakfast burrito was big and delicious. I would definitely eat here again if I am in the area.
Good food
Stopped here for dinner with my family. Great space for kids to play outside! Shakes, huckleberry lemonade, and fries were great. BBQ burger was good. We substituted a grilled chicken breast on the teriyaki burger and the chicken was terrible. $85 for 3 burgers with fries, onion rings, 2 shakes and lemonade is little on the pricy side, but the kids loved it.
Good food, good service, great atmosphere, and friendly
Searched for a lunch spot on our way back from visiting the ice cave. Pleasant experience to eat near the stream. Hearty Food was prepared to order. We enjoyed sweet potato fries, patty melt, and bacon burger with pineapple. You must try the huckleberry lemonade.
Be aware!! They do not wear masks and service is slow. I talked to the owner and said that they chose as a business to not wear masks. Very Irresponsible:(
In the middle of nowhere great place to eat!
I had the chicken burger massive onions property grilled very well done the bun was big but not oversized followed up by crispy sweet potato fries and of course to wash it down the Huckleberry shake a must stop if you're coming through trout lake after climbing on My Adams
No frills. Perfect small town pit stop.
Great food and exceptional service.
Everyone awesome. From mechanics to waitresses. Motorcycle broke down. Waited 8 hours for tow. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate us. The burger and onion rings were excellent as well. Their waffle cones made an excellent afternoon snack. We will go back.
Great burgers and shakes
Felt good to sit down outside by as small stream and be served a big hamburger, onion rings and a thick huckleberry shake after a great day of climbing nearby Mount Adams.
Rustic, cute, good service, outdoor seating. Love it
Shakes were good, brick oven pizza could use some work
Friendly little cafe with the best sweet potato fries ever!
When you are in the middle of nowhere, this is where you will find yourself!
Great food and atmosphere. Love the outside.
Awesome huckleberry milkshake. Perfect recovery for the "just climbed Mt Adams"
A great touch of flavor and food after a week of adventure in the wilderness! To come off the mountain and have this place to stop and relax is a little slice of heaven! Prices are a little high but understandably so considering location and seasonal nature and the of the business.
Good food, relaxed atmosphere, outside seating that is dog friendly. We always drop by here when we go to Mt. Adams.
Great place for breakfast while returning from Mt. Adams.
The food was amazing and they served us on a sunday during the virus. Today has been fun
The food was big portions. It was a little wait but worth it. They have outside seating also. The deserts looked over sized and homemade. If the staff was more friendly it could have been a 5 star.
A little oasis in the middle of the country. Good burgers, better pizza!
Tried to eat here after climbing Mt. Adams... We rolled up not expecting more than a bathroom and a place to get a quick bite. There were several other potential customers milling about, but no one seemed to have any food. None of the staff seemed able to string enough words together to form a sentence either, so without a table or direction we eventually just gave up and left. If you're coming down off a climb, don't bother to stop here. I know it's the first place, but their apparent local Monopoly doesn't inspire competency.
I always love coming here when I come through Trout Lake. It has been called The Station Cafe for a long time, so I am not sure if they are going through a name change. The cafe is owned by a local family who also runs the auto service shop next door. The place is very quaint, with the old school gas pumps out front. The inside is a cozy American diner, which brings you back to the 50's. Around back is the creek and a huge yard with several picnic tables for outdoor seating. All of their baked goods are AMAZING along with all their fresh Huckleberry items. I highly recommend the huckleberry shake!! There is also an espresso shop and deli on the opposite side of the building that has fancy coffee and healthy food, so there is always an option that will meet your needs. I've been gluten free for a few years and managed to find a gf snickerdoodle in the cafe, while my boyfriend ate homemade raspberry cinnamon rolls. The burgers are also fantastic.
On the coffee shop ice cream shop side we order a large order of ice creams and they said after words we couldn't have our last two things on our order cause we hadn't paid. We had paid over 40 dollars so 2 people In our 10 people group got nothing.
I love this place is beautiful
